In the early days of Russia’s invasion, two courageous Kharkiv residents, Luida and Egor, put their lives on hold to set up a kitchen to feed their struggling community. With their city under attack, they began preparing meals, for those brave people whose access to hot food was limited. These meals became a lifeline, vital to saving the people of Kharkiv.
Now, two and a half years later, Hell’s Kitchen still stands strong, a beacon of hope in the midst of war. Today, they produce over 1,000 meals and several thousand loaves of bread daily, providing nourishment to those in desperate need.
But Hell’s Kitchen isn’t just about food. It has evolved into a sanctuary for those devastated by the conflict. In addition to serving meals, they distribute medical supplies, hygiene products, and clothing to those affected by the aggression. This hub of humanitarian assistance runs seven days a week, no matter the challenges—missile strikes, blackouts, air raids, or snowstorms. Hell's Kitchen doesn't stop because the people of Kharkiv depend on them for survival.
A young volunteer with Hell’s Kitchen in November 2023 and again in August 2024. He witnessed firsthand the tireless dedication of its volunteers, working around the clock to ensure that no one is left behind. Hell’s Kitchen embodies the resilience of the Ukrainian people, standing strong in the face of adversity.
