Please support patient and fundraiser Craig Maxwell as he embarks on his most ambitious journey yet.
Having surpassed his initial goal of £300k, raising over £1 million for the Maxwell Family Genomics Fund, Craig and friends are embarking on a monumental challenge to symbolise hope, resilience, and unity.
Craig will walk and cycle 780 miles in 26 days along the Wales Coastal Path from 14th February to the 10th March. 780 miles represents the 78 days it took Craig to receive his diagnosis from the point of finding his tumour, and 26 represents the reduced diagnosis time thanks to the funds he raised for the QuicDNA study. Each day Craig will be joined by family, friends, fundraisers and members of the public who will all raise funds
A match ball will be carried the entire distance of the challenge, symbolising our collective fight against cancer, and it will culminate at the national stadium of Wales, the Principality Stadium on March 10th for the Wales vs. France Guinness Six Nations match, where Craig accompanied by his children, Isla and Zach, will carry the match ball onto the pitch.
Acknowledging the unpredictable nature of his ongoing treatments, Craig will be joined by a different Welsh celebrity every day of the walk, including Sam Warburton, Jamie Roberts, Gethin Jones, and Shane Williams to name a few, so that regardless of his ability to walk, he will have a representative to take on the challenge.
