When You Wish Upon a Star aims to grant the Wishes of children living with a life threatening illnesses throughout the UK

When You Wish Upon a Star was founded in 1990 by Barbara White OBE and to date have had the great pleasure of granting over 19,000 magical Wishes to children who live with life threatening illnesses. Some children Wish to be a fairy princess or soldier for the day, meet celebrities or sporting heroes and others Wish for a laptop to keep in contact with their friends and family whilst in hospital. A Wish gives so much hope, increases the child’s confidence and have even been reported to show an improvement in the child’s physical as well as their mental health. From these experiences along with precious and important memories that are made, strength is drawn, courage is built and the resilience is forged to carry on.
