On 17 March, Chapter closed its doors for the foreseeable future. On a normal day we would welcome thousands of people – for exhibitions, film screenings, theatre performances, gigs, educational events and to chat to friends and colleagues over a coffee and a tasty plate of food.
Our rich and diverse programme, that each year welcomes more than 700,000 visitors, is brought to life by our dedicated team of staff and by the hundreds of artists, musicians, performers, dancers, producers and film makers that fill our building with exceptional creative talent. Our closure is perilous for our arts centre's future but reverberates across the whole sector whose livelihoods depend on the support of Chapter and of our audiences.
It’s hard for us to see our beloved building, the creative hub for so many, shut its doors. It’s even harder to consider that our doors might not open again. Whilst shut and unable to trade, our losses are escalating quickly and the future of Chapter is under threat. But with your help, we will make it through this crisis.
Donations are the most effective way to help as we receive 100% of what you gift us – there is no VAT, and there is an additional opportunity to increase the value of your donation by 25% through Gift Aid. We have been blown away by the levels of support and kindness we’ve already received and we send our heartfelt thanks for your continuing support.
If you care for Chapter and are in a position to do so, please donate to secure our future.
