A visual impairment or blindness can often reduce a childs self-esteem and increase their sense of isolation and fear.
We currently support over 100 young members, all of whom have a visual impairment or who are blind. Approximately 75% of our younger members also have other disabilities.
Throughout the year we have a comprehensive timetable of activities available for our young members (and their families), with activities including vital sensory experiences. These experiences are fundamental for developing confidence and self-esteem, enabling the children to develop the pivotal social skills that are essential for later life.
Having the right mobility vehicle, to provide a safe and comfortable journey for our young members to these key events and workshops, is paramount.
We need a mini-bus that has wheelchair access and room for siblings and other family members.
With this in mind, we are launching a fundraising appeal for a custom mini bus to help transport our young visually impaired and blind members and transform their lives by giving them the opportunity to increase their independence to lead fuller, happier lives.
We hope your might like to come on board and help us drive our mini bus appeal and reach our £61,000 target.
