The number of dogs currently in our care and needing our help is at an all time high. Sadly, this means many will be spending Christmas in kennels while they wait on their fresh start to begin.
It is an ongoing challenge to pull the funds together to continue our work, we are so very grateful to each and every one of you who have donated to us in the past. We have tried to break down below what your donations go towards.
Each (healthy) dog who comes into our centre needs to be checked out by our vets, microchipped, flea/wormed, vaccinated, neutered/spayed, fed, cared for and kept in a warm, clean kennel while the team gets to work looking for a new home. (Any dog that comes to us with health issues can cost a great deal more)
On average the price of the basic things are -
Microchip - £5
Flea/worm - £30
Vaccinations - £25
Neutering/spaying - £75
Food - £2 a day
Staff time - £85 a day
Then we have all the utility bills, heat, light, water etc.
We also have the costs involved in all the up keep of the centre - disinfectant, tools needed, maintenance etc.
Can you make Christmas a little brighter this year for a DGCRC dog by donating today?
