After 180 years ospreys returned to Kielder Water and Forest Park, North-East England. Will you help us continue this great wildlife success story?
Since 2009, Forestry England and our partners have enabled 120 ospreys to fledge. Now we need your help.
This summer has been a terrible year for the Kielder Forest ospreys. The unseasonally wet weather, low temperatures and high winds resulted in the death of 12 chicks. The losses are the worst that Kielder has suffered in 15 years.
But there is hope. Seven chicks survived and soon they will embark on their epic 3,700-mile migration to West Africa.
Your donation of £10 or whatever you can afford could help:
- Improve the nest poles and 8-metre-high nesting platforms to protect the ospreys next year.
- Invest in nest cameras that will allow us to discover new wildlife insights.
- Help improve equipment to livestream their incredible lives for us all to enjoy.
- Allow us to work with contacts in West Africa to monitor the osprey at the end of their summer migration
We are working in partnership with Kielder Water and Forest Park Development Trust, Northumberland Wildlife Trust, Northumbrian Water and Calvert Kielder and Kielder Water. If you can, please help support this incredible story of nature recovery in England's forests.
Thank you.
