Friends of Ibba Girls’ School is developing and supporting a good-quality, non-fee-paying, residential community school for girls in South Sudan.

Ibba Girls’ Boarding School opened in 2014 and provides quality teaching and learning in a safe environment. Built on land donated by community leaders, the school is open to all girls regardless of status or background. Fewer than 1% of girls in South Sudan complete their education. By spanning the last 5 years of primary education and the 4-year secondary curriculum the school helps to reverse this trend. As a residential school it also provides trauma counselling and a range of co-curricular and extra-curricular activities. Girls’ education has been shown to be the single most impactful development intervention. By supporting FIGS, you are helping to improve the life chances of women in South Sudan and prepare them for work and leadership.
