Coronovirus 19 has had a devastating effect on both animal welfare charities and humans alike. As a rescue we have no formal source of income, no Government assistance and rely totally on our own fundraising efforts. Sadly with lockdown all sources of income ceased, all our fundraising events were cancelled and yet vet bills, food and normal running costs still needed to be met in order to ensure the safety and welfare of the dogs in our care. Our vet bills alone run in excess of £1000 per month and that is without any extraordinary emergencies! While the Trustees are now starting to organise fund raising events these are unlikely to generate income until 2022.
Like all good businesses the rescue has always run with a contingency fund however having had 18 months with no income these funds have very quickly depleted and we are in severe danger of having to close permanently. This would be a very sad day for the rescue but an even more sad day for the dogs, as who then knows what their future would hold. We are determined that this will not happen as we made a pledge to care for the dogs when they came into our care and promised them a second chance and a brighter future. Please help us to keep that pledge by donating however small or large, every penny will go to keeping our dogs safe. Your donation will ensure that our 13th year is not an unlucky one for the many dogs that need our help.
