Now in its 20th year, Fuse continues to be one of the largest free, volunteer-run music and arts community event in the Midlands, specifically aimed at providing barrier-free engagement in the arts to people of all ages and background. It is staged in Lichfield's Beacon Park from 13th to 15th August 2021, and features two performance stages hosting more than 30 high quality music and arts performances, audience participatory activities such as circus skills, art and crafting, poetry, magic and dance, plus food traders, a festival market and a licensed bar.
Fuse’s unique selling point is that it is a free, informal family event with no barriers to entry, whether it be family income, special needs or wheelchair access. Families enjoy the event because it is welcoming, safe and friendly with excellent activities and facilities for both children and parents. Music and arts lovers enjoy it because it is a great opportunity to see high quality performers for free, in a relaxed environment and often showcasing genres they would not normally experience. Our performers regularly tell us that they have found it one of the best run and friendliest festivals that they have performed at.
All of the above demonstrates the value that Fuse adds, and that people want it to happen. However, as a free community event put on by the charity Lichfield Arts we receive no ticketing income. This means we are dependent on donations as one of our key income streams. So please donate to help ensure we can continue to stage this wonderful event and deliver our goal of enriching people's lives through engagement in music and the arts.
