Oxford Festival of the Arts was founded in 2009 by Magdalen College School and is a multi-disciplinary celebration of the arts taking place in venues across Oxford each summer.
From mid-June for just over two weeks, OFA creates a whirlwind of creativity across Oxford. Our festival features nationally and internationally renowned performers and artists, as well as exciting newcomers and wonderful home-grown talent. Through our many cultural partnerships, we are able to make use of the buildings, open spaces, and performance venues that are found throughout the beautiful city of Oxford.
We offer a broad programme of performances and events embracing music; classical, contemporary, and new, theatre, visual art, film, dance, and comedy, and we attract an outstanding line-up of guests for our speaker series. We celebrate Oxford’s diverse communities and offer something for everyone, whatever their age, background, or artistic experience.
Our community engagement activities run throughout the year involving hundreds of children from local primary schools and members of community groups. Much of their work is showcased during the festival.
During the pandemic, like many arts organisations we have had to adapt our offering. For 2020 and 2021 we have reinvented ourselves as an online festival - OFA Virtual - offering many exclusive, innovative and exciting digital performances.
Funds (and gift aid associated with them) raised via DONATE are used exclusively for the benefit of Oxford Festival of the Arts. These funds are processed via Magdalen College School. Donations help us create our annual celebration of the arts and support artists and creatives (vital in these unprecedented times).
Oxford Festival of the Arts is part of Magdalen College School (Registered Charity No.295785).
