Established in 2009 Oxford Festival of the Arts brings the city of Oxford alive with a multi-faceted arts festival that has something for everyone. As well as the two-week pinnacle of our activity in the summer, we work throughout the year to present performances between the festival dates and continue our education and engagement projects working with children and communities who may have less access to the arts.
In 2020 and 2021 in response to the pandemic, we reinvented ourselves as an online festival, OFA Virtual. To date our performances have attracted over 17,000 views of the performances on YouTube. We offer these performances for free in order to make them accessible to as wide an audience as possible. However, one of the guiding principles of OFA is that we always pay our artists and creatives, as we value their time, experience, energy and talents so highly. Many of these creatives are freelancers and were ineligible for government support schemes.
This is where you can help. Your donation supports our artists and creatives now and into the future, it helps us produce digital and printed material for our learning and engagement projects and the costs of making our free online performances accessible to a wide audience.
As the world emerges cautiously from lockdown and the arts start to enjoy a renewal of activity, we are determined to support the creative industries. We have all relied on the arts in its numerous forms for solace, joy, diversion and beauty during lockdown, let’s support them now and ensure arts and culture and this passionate and talented community of artists can continue to enrich our lives.
Thank you for donating and being a supporter of the arts.
Funds (and gift aid associated with them) raised via DONATE are used exclusively for the benefit of Oxford Festival of the Arts. These funds are processed via Magdalen College School. Donations help us create our annual celebration of the arts and support artists and creatives (vital in these unprecedented times).
