Sheep Ahoy take in sheep and goats that are ill, neglected, mistreated or left in poor conditions & provide care, treatment and security.
Sheep Ahoy Animal Rescue was set up in 2012 when it started by taking in orphan lambs to care for and when the
founders, a mother and daughter team, realised how ill these animals could get and how they often do not receive the appropriate care necessary because the treatment would cost more than the animals financial worth.
The rescue does not own but rents land for grazing and fundraises to pay the rent and to pay for the cost of the buildings required to house the animals. Multiple fields are rented and the animals are moved around according to their needs, grazing and time of year.
Fundraising also raises the money to provide the daily care of the animals which includes the cost of veterinary fees.
The rescue became a registered charity in 2017.
