Magog Down has been actively managed since the former farmland was purchased by The Magog Trust in 1989, and the site has now become a haven for wildlife as well as a popular destination for those seeking quiet recreation. External grant funding has reduced in recent years, while ongoing maintenance costs of course continue to increase. Plus there are always new projects in the offing, whether to improve the ecological diversity (such as re-establishing native plant species) or to enhance visitors' enjoyment (such as a Tree Trail) and despite the large number of volunteers who help out on a regular basis with many tasks, all these things still cost money. So we invite all visitors to Magog Down to make a small donation for the Magog Trust, which will go towards these costs of upkeep and projects.
