The Royal Cornwall Polytechnic Society (The Poly) founded in 1833 to promote arts and science in Cornwall.
We are a mixed arts community centre with a cinema/theatre and three galleries. Our membership is around 550 with many more supporters through social media in the region of 6,000. Our programme consists of an eclectic mix of films, documentaries, theatre, comedy and music. We screen contemporary films two or three times a week and have a very strong and loyal audience. Our film programme is a mix of British, Independent and International films and we often screen films that are not shown anywhere else in Cornwall. We have a strong documentary programme and usually run a post-film discussion group after the screenings. We are a member of the BFI's SWWM Film Hub and are now the home of the Cornwall Film Festival.
