We love film at The Poly but to keep cinema alive here we need to upgrade our cinema to screen films digitally.
We are now the "home" of the Cornwall Film Festival and going digital will enable us to show the films they want to screen.
The Poly offers a very special cinema-going experience, we do not bombard our audiences with trailers and adverts, nor do we encourage them to scoff popcorn and hotdogs. This approach is much appreciated by our loyal and enthusiastic film-goers and consequently our audience figures often exceed our local competitors. In a recent customer survey, over 80% were satisfied with the film programme, comments such as "there's nowhere else to see these films in Cornwall"; but there were complaints about poor sound and picture quality. By installing this new technology, we will guarantee excellent sound quality and sharp focus for every screening, together with a more extensive choice of films, available to see on their release dates.
Our goal is £50K and our target is October 2014.
We are applying for grants towards this goal but any donation you can give will help us along the way. Many thanks for your support.
