Our Legends programmes provide positive activities and groups to disadvantaged young people in areas of highest need across Kent. There are currently eight groups that run weekly providing a safe space to host activities that help build resilience across key areas including physical health, mental health, friendships, education and talents. Legends young people also have the chance to engage in seasonal and weekend activities - opportunities they may not normally have.
This service is critical to what we do here at YLF and really can be the one activity or experience that our young people engage in outside of home or school life. We give young people the opportunity to broaden their horizons, build self-esteem, learn new skills, make new friends and have fun.
All funds raised as part of this campaign will support our Legends Programme children to experience an action-packed activity weekend with their friends and trained staff here at YLF. For most disadvantaged children, this will be the first or only opportunity to embark on a mini break, learning new skills in a new place, away from home or their careers. An opportunity for self-discovery; building life skills, resilience, and confidence.
