James Parsons became the Potter Technician and Resident Potter for Watts Gallery – Artists’ Village after developing a passion for pottery after retiring from banking. He was multi-talented in his craft. Specialising mostly in beautiful large stoneware bowls, he also created pottery jugs, vases, platters, bowls, and candle holders. During his years at Watts Gallery, he supported us in various events including the ever popular Victorian Christmas Weekend and our Art For All learning programme. James was a kind, dedicated and talented person who inspired us all in so many different ways. He was never one to turn his back on those who needed his help and we will forever be grateful for his support and friendship. He touched the hearts of all who met him, was a joy to be around, and will be missed by all who knew him.
